    Anatma

    Namaste all

I'm not too familiar with the concept of Anatma, can anyone care to explain the philosophy and reasoning behind this?

Why do Buddhists disbelieve in the soul, and if this is the case, do they also disbelieve in any sort of afterlife? Does this go further with Void Or Emptiness that they meditate upon?

    Thank you in advance

    Re: Anatma

Hi, I think that they don't believe in atma because it implies the existence of an immutable "I" or "me", but they believe in the "awareness" of a living entity which goes through many lives until attainment of para-nirvana.
