Recommended Tibet tour company for serious Kailash pilgrimage?

Any thoughts? I'm presently in China with a work visa but I don't think that makes getting into Tibet any easier- at present visitors must be part of an organized tour. I'm looking to see Lhasa then over to Kailash for the circumambulation, done as inexpensively as possible; also hoping the roads aren't too dangerous...

Anyone know about the border situation from Uttarakhand? Kailash and Lake Manasarova are such a short distance- are Indian pilgrims allowed over the border? Must research on this...

Edit- it seems you can go without even a visa if you have an Indian passport, you just get fit and join a group. I'd love to try it all robed up with other pilgrims but with my white skin I expect the Chinese would have kittens and I'd be chucked in a Tibetan prison.
