    What if.....

    Namaste,

I was just sitting and was thinking that What if tomorrow morning Shree Krishna says to me, My Son your time here is over, its time for Moksh.

Am I really ready for that ???????????????

To get moksha one has to leave this body (die). I think, I fear Death.

    Namaste,

Well, personally, I don't think if you fear death that you are ready for moksha. Death is nothing bad, nothing to be afraid of. It's completely natural & soul still exists after physical body dies. As a Hindu, you believe in reincarnation, so I personally don't see why someone who would believe in reincarnation be afraid of death.

Though I must say - I feel different when I face my fears. And I make a big problem after nothing, but I still know that even if I die today I'll still have chance to do my dharma in next life & life after that.

That was only my personal view on this and maybe I just really misunderstood your post. If that's so, I apologize in advance.

    Have a wonderful day,
    ~Alice.

This you may wish to review... mokṣa can occur while living. The requirement is not death. The person that is liberated while living is called the jivanmukti.

Fearing death is not unusal as it is called out in patajalis yogadarśana (the yoga sūtra-s of patajali). It is considered a blemish.
More on this if there is interest.

Hello... I've been in that thought.

Sometimes I caught myself longing for moksha as it was a salvation, but it's a continuous, infinite evolutionary process.

So when I step back more calm and relaxed I can clearly see that, no, I can't have and won't have moksha, simply because I don't truly want it yet.

    I fear death. A lot!

Unfortunately more than it's necessary for self-preservation.

But there is no such thing as death. You people are scared of something which doesn't exist ???

I do not fear death but I fear suffering.

Vannakkam: This concept of fear ... Devotee, of course you are right. Perhaps we should say we (don't) fear the transition.

The subconscious is where fear lies, not in the conscious, or ego. Only an actual action, or experience will let us know how we will react. Take the playground bully. Although he is seen as fearless by peers, when a bigger bully comes along, he will shake in his boots with fear.

Walking the walk is far different than talking the talk. Personally, I really don't know if I fear death or not. Lets see how I react when a car is driving the wrong way coming straight at me, or when I'm lying in my own deathbed. Then I might have some clue. Until then, cluelessness permeates this one.
