Cool! So many ways god blesses people and sure, Sunita 'Sunny' Williams is one of those blessed by god! After 10 min of the video, I felt like floating myself in mid-air . (Funny to watch that exercise equipment 'float' too..). What an accomplished woman! Holds the record for max. number of spacewalks for a woman and for the longest space walks of 50 min - wonder where she got all that bravery from to walk in a 'nowhere' space!

Brings back memories of me learning of the tragedy in the news back then. I was 12 and was shocked and proud that an Indian Hindu woman was part of the team. I remember watching her brother and family in the news deeply saddened by Columbia's disintegration just 16 minutes before landing. I will always remember her.

    Well the question is ,
is she the FIRST HINDU in space?

    Namaste,

Just for the sake of completeness,

Rakesh Sharma - First Indian in space in a Russian Soyuz
Kalpana Chawla - First Indo-American (born in India) in space on a Space Shuttle
Sunita Williams - First Indo-American (born in the US, of Indian father) in space in the Space Station.

International Space Station(ISS) is one of the marvels of modern science and technology.
It is a habitable artificial satellite orbiting 370 KM above earth. It orbits with a speed of 27,720Km/hr. Nearly 32 times faster than passenger aircraft like Airbus A380. They maintain sea level atmospheric pressure inside space station, unlike passenger aircraft where the pressure inside passenger cabin is equivalent to 8,000ft above sea level.
It takes around 92 minutes for making one orbit around earth. It means the astronauts see 16 sun rises and 16 sunsets every 24 hours. Very difficult to adjust your biological clock, unless you are well trained. It was first launched in November 1998.It is a joint project funded by several nations, major partners are US, Russia, Europe, Japan and Canada. It is funded till 2020, may operate till 2028. Its cost is about 150 Billion dollars.
This video tour of ISS by Sunita is quite informative. Thanks for posting the link.
