SC THROWS TN HR & CE BOARD OUT OF CHIDAMBARAM TEMPLE

On Monday the 6th of January 2014, Supreme Court delivered a landmark judgment bringing a permanent end to the long drawn legal battle between the Tamil Nadu government and the Podhu Dikshithars. The SC’s verdict went in favour of the Dikshithars throwing the HR & CE Department out of the world famous Chidambaram Natarajar Temple confirming the “Religious Denomination” status of the Dikshithars and their “right” to manage the temple.

    Namaste,

Thanks for the post. My respects to the people who fought the TN Govt. to regain control of the temple from them. It is insane for any Govt. to wrest control of a temple for good. As the justices noted, no reasons were given for the take over and no time frame was specified to rectify the management problems, if any existed at all. Hope it is all for the best.

On a side note, I do hope that the temple managements in India do start looking at spending some of the donated money in improving the infrastructure in the temple towns. Quite often the existing facilities are stretched to the limit due to large numbers of pilgrims visiting the temple towns and the local Govts. either don't have the funds or the desire to keep up with the ever increasing numbers coming to pay their respects to the deities.

    Pranam.

Great news. In the guise of secularism, fellows in the Government and politics play havoc with Sanathana Dharma. The earlier people throw out the irreligious and immoral Government and politicians, it will be better for India.
