Mahishasura Mardini Stotra is a famous & very powerful hymn.Some say it was composed by Ramakrishna Kavi and a few others by Sri AdiShankaracharya.Does anyone know who is wrote this beautiful hymn and any more details about it?

All i know is its been composed by Adi shankara. And it is composed in such a way that the kundalini energy gets activated especially the mooladhaara
More importantly its a hymn to Parvati because every shloka ends with "shailasute" which means daughter of the mountains. And shailaputri or parvati is the goddess of the muladhara chakra. You have to activate the muladhara without which the other chakras would be merely a nuisance if activated

He dances in the golden hall of Chidambaram, Let us worship His rosy anklet girt Feet.
