    Re: Goddess Saraswati

    Namaste...yes, hard to interpret sometimes...

The devotee will pray: "Dear Lord, I really love this girl and wish her to become my wife...I know she likes me, but I want to know how she really feels about me...please make her tell me, Lord".

The next day, his girlfriend splits up with him saying she doesn't love him anymore and has a new boyfriend now.

Furious, the devotee blames the Lord and all He can say is 'be careful what you ask for in future then'.

    Namaste Webimpulse,

Veda Vani is the embodiment of all knowledge and can offer enlightnment to man kind for all that she has to offer is for the uplifment of mankind. She is normally seen sitting or standing on a white lotus as a symbol of purity. The swan or Goose represents the power of descrimination and wisdom as these are her preffered vahanas.Standing firmly on this principle calm and unswayed is what we should all strive for.The peacock is also seen sometimes and this represents Vanity and emotions that are not controlled, eager to serve and yet fickle in nature as men sometimes are..Hope this helps.

    Re: Goddess Saraswati

    Namaste
According to Srimad Devi Bhagavatam, Sarasvati was the first goddess to come out of Bhuvaneshwari.(durga, lakshmi, radha and gayatri being others)This point insinuates the fact that Shabda Brahman is the means to attain the Para Brahman. For a world of delusion where names and forms take a primary bow,for a world where singing or dancing in front of idols distract us from our real identity it is this Vaak that takes us towards God. Since we are bound by the senses and since we refuse to open our spiritual heart or expand our mind it is Shri Sarasvati who acts like a bridge between jiva and Shiva.
The nature of Parama Shiva is pure Sat chid ananda the one who revels in His own self, the state of rest. The Mula Prakriti(Bhuvaneshwari) who is eternal like the lord evolves out of Him in the form of the first cosmic vibration which gets converted into Shakti or energy which then converts itself into matter . AUM is NOT this primal cosmic vibration but only the CLOSEST TO THE PRIMAL COSMIC VIBRATION that the human can comprehend. Just like an aeroplane which APPEARS to be diminishing in its size as it moves farther the real sound keeps diminishing in both intensity and amplitude as it approaches the materialistic human beings and becomes perceived as AUM. So the most approximate sound that we can perceive of the primal cosmic vibration is AUM. But nobody ever knows how the first vibration sounded like unless he gets liberated from the bondage of names forms etc. But this material world full of desires and delusions makes humans think of God in a particular limited form or name. Thus just as a school kid is first taught 1+1 before he gets into the complexities of Mathematics the deluded soul also needs a simpler method to approach God.Since we are all gunabaddhas it is thus only merciful of the Nirguna Brahman to take a Saguna avatar to atleast make us take the first step of approaching Him that is singing names of the Nameless one. Sarasvati is a channel, the Vaak that allows the expression of our devotion take the form of sound as a name which merges in the SHabda Brahman,.Whatever prayers we recite go to God via this great Goddess. She is also the consort of Brahma implying that it is sound that creates the universe.
However SARASVATI is Vaak not Para Vaak. While Vaak exists only in this temporary world Para Vaak is eternal.Like how we see with our eye first and then we comprehend what we see through the mind. What matters is the final comprehension by our mind. Likewise we hear a sound first but if we dont comprehend it with our spiritual intellect we will become more and more regressive spiritually and the same sound in the form of names of God becomes the highest form of bondage. Many people who call themselves devotees keep singing Gods names but if that is limited just to the ear and not to the mind it becomes a cause of emotion ,misery and bondage. And it does manifest in the external world as inferior intellect, failure to reason or failure to comprehend duality. Hence it is always advised to add maya beeja to sarasvati beeja. Hreem should always be added to AIM because knowledge without spiritual merit becomes useless and Hreem removes the razzle dazzle of Maya.
