    Namaste,

Thank you for sharing this. I've heard of this book before, and it looks great. BTW, the download works for me. I selected "Slow Download", which is free, and it took a few seconds to download.

Vannakkam: I don't really see the point of reading such books. From a sadhana perspective, its better to see ourselves in an honest and open way with regard to how racist we are, and then apply strategies to eliminate that from our own minds. Others will follow our lead, as that is the nature of life, of learning.

I did read the Amazon.com reviews on the book, and they were mixed. it seems apparent that any western author would pick western or white/black situations and settings to illustrate an already existing belief. The whole Judaic/Christian African/American thing all over again. But it seemed very scholarly. Although I have nothing against scholars, the intellect is a place where mind can get 'stuck' and not see bigger pictures because of it.

I think the bigger picture with regard to racism is that it will eventually disappear, perhaps sooner than we think, because of overall accellerated change on the planet. By this I mean in the mixing of DNA. Each time an interracial marriage occurs, that is one more step towards an eventual uniform race. The trend is definitely on the upswing, whether racial puritans like it or not.

Then perhaps gender of religion will be heightened as differences to be the problems that we need in order to evolve. Only time will tell.

The book argues that the kind of racism which exists in the West was unknown to the greeks and romans. Its largely a christian phenomena.....

Hindus should understand the enemy better........
