Namaste,
I receive a daily master course email from Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami's trilogy: Dancing with Siva, Living with Siva and Merging with Siva, and one of the excerpts from yesterday's lesson made me wonder. Here is what it said:
Sutra 79 of the Nandinatha Sutras
Guarding Against Pride
Siva's devotees treasure humility. They never boast, point with their index finger or assume prideful postures, such as with arms folded and chin held high, or with one foot resting on the knee when sitting. Aum.
This made me wonder: are these postures considered rude? I may practice these without even noticing, and never would think twice about it.
What are others' thoughts on this, as well as any other other postures or actions that westerners may practice without second thought, that may be seen as inappropriate?
Pranam.
