In view of the on going extremism & violence in the world in the name of religious beliefs, its crucial to discuss the ethical & moral standing of religion.
Are ethics always bound by the religion or can there be ethics which are independent of religion?
Does religion, whether Hinduism or any other always the propound the ethical stands or can sometimes, religion may itself be a cause of societal degradation?
If so, then isn't the very base of religion(to unite & educate society) compromised?
There is a need to ponder on such issues to have better understanding of where ethics lies in the sphere of world religions including Hinduism.
I invite the respected members to give there valuable inputs to this.
